Richard went to Duston Open Triple (Worcester, Vegas & Portsmouth) and won the Triple and 1st Individual round for the Longbow. Setting 3 new personal best scores as well as setting 2 new club records.

Richard went to Guildford Archery Club Indoor Tournament and shot a double round, Richard finished 4th in the Single and 1st in the Double for the Longbow.

Last Sunday the club went to the Herts County Team Championships, the club fielded 10 archers 3 Recurve, 6 Longbow and 1 Compound. The Club shot well and had an enjoyable time , most setting pbs.
The Longbows shot together fielding 2 teams and won Gold for the ladies individual Longbow (Congrats Ali), Silver (Congrats Karen). Paul won Silver for the Gents Individual Longbow and the Club won the Herts County Team Longbow (Congrats Paul, Ali And Richard). Well done to the 2nd team for coming 4th in the Team competition.
Some of the club had a nice meal at the pub nearby, the club attended the raffle and finished a great day with some of the club winning a prize in the raffle. Pictures here.

Richard went to the Berkshire County Indoor Championships and Open Tournament last Saturday and finished in 4th place for the Gents Visitors Longbow.

Karen, Lubos and Richard went to Green Dragon. Lubos shooting Recurve and Karen and Richard Longbow, all shot good rounds and had much fun, Lubos completing his first competitve outing. Karen won gold for the Ladies Longbow and Richard won second place for the Gents Longbow. All three did very well on the raffle. Pictures here.

Richard went to Buckinghamshire Archery Association 38th County and Visitors Indoor Championships on Sunday 6th November and won 1st place with the Visitors Longbow.

Paul, Karen and Richard went to the 7th Kestrels Portmouth Tournament on Sunday 9th October, all shot well and had an enjoyable day. The trio won the Team Longbow, Ladies Longbow and Gents Longbow first and second place as well as the double round for Longbow. In all the Club won 2 trophies and 7 medals. Pictures here.

Our first Summer League match of the season held at home against Howard Bowmen proved to be a very windy one, with gusts of up to 60mph blowing in from behind. Undeterred by the weather, we had a good turnout to setup the field, and by 1:45 it looked great. The day proved to be an eye opener, with conditions being difficult no less than six of our archers (Adam, Lubos, Lance, Tony, Barry and Vernon) set new PB`s for a Short Metric, with the every one else shooting really well, the tea after shooting was enjoyed by everyone, but Howard went home the victors. A big thank you to everyone for their help with setting up and breaking down the field and well done to all.

Karen, Paul and Richard went to their first outside competition of the season on Sunday the 10th of April at Whiteleaf Bowmen, the sun was out and spirits were high as all the longbow archers approached the line.
We were shooting a Double National, with a scoring system of first place was for the highest number of hits, second was for most golds and third was for highest score. Stopping for sherry after 4 doz., every one seemed happy with their start, but a gusting wind was creating some difficult conditions, at the end of the first round, we were all up on last years scores and looking for a good second round. Paul and Richard started to compete for most gold’s which ended very close.
By the end of the competition, we had all shot new PBs, but the only winner was Richard with an Easter egg on the raffle. Pictures here.

Richard went to Wicken Archery Club's 6th Stafford Shoot last Sunday and won 3rd place with the Longbow.

The Southern Counties Archery Society indoor championships at the K2 Leisure Centre:
On the 6th of march was attended by the clubs intrepid trio, with Richard opting for the double Portsmouth round and Karen and Paul the single round. Karen was defending her title as the Ladies longbow indoor champion, and did so in style, taking the gold and a shield for the second year, so she wont have to dust the cabinet at home as it can go back in the same spot. Richard had a very good early start and put in a great performance and came in 3rd in the double round, Paul had a good round and came home with the silver medal, Karen and Paul’s score also gave them a silver in the team longbow event, so yet again a good day for the club, well done all. Sunday the 13th of Feb was this years Herts. indoor championship shoot at St Albans Girls School. We had a good turnout from the club with Julia, Karen, Steve, Vernon, Richard and Paul all attending.
Julia showing that competition can’t faze her as she shot a PB under competition pressure. Richard chose to shoot a double round with longbow followed by recurve and again put in some good scores. Steve found things a bit hard going, but still shot well as he is not so used to competition, Vernon also enjoyed the shoot and shot well.
Paul managed a good score and took the silver and Karen retained her county indoor championship title, so again a good day for the club.

Richard, Karen and Paul went to the Kestrels 27th Worcester tournament on Sunday 6/2/2011. All shot a double round and had a good day out as it is a very friendly club. We left with a good haul of medals and trophies, all shooting new PBs, with Richard winning the Gents Single and double round, Karen winning the Ladies single and double round, Paul coming 3rd in the single and 2nd in the double and Karen & Paul came 1st in the married couples and Karen & Richard came 1st in the team longbow, so we ended up with 10 medals and 2 trophies. Richard, Karen and Paul spent the day at Daventry’s BTB Archers Triple on Sunday shooting a Worcester at 9.30, then a Vegas at 12.30 and a Portsmouth at 3.30. A very long day and 197 arrows shot by each had muscles feet and fingers aching or sore. At the end of the Day Richard had shot some solid rounds with good scores, Karen took the gold for the Ladies Longbow Worcester and won the Ladies Longbow Triple, Paul took the gold for the gents Longbow Worcester and a trophy for first place in the Longbow Triple competition.
